Orthopantomogram (OPG) and Lateral Cephalograms are x-rays of your teeth in different views

What is Dental Imaging?

An orthopantomogram (OPG) is a panoramic x-ray image of your entire jaw and teeth. The camera rotates around the patient’s head during the scan to create that panoramic effect. The images help to diagnose fractures, dislocations, dentition and even surgical planning such as the removal of wisdom teeth.

A lateral cephalogram is a side view x-ray of the facial bones and structures. Mainly used to evaluate the bite and apart of orthodontic work up to assess if future intervention may be necessary.
